Based in the city of Chicago, Famous Fido Rescue & Adoption Alliance has saved thousands of animals in the last 30 years. They provide food, shelter, veterinary health-care, spaying, neutering, training, and adoption information to the community.

After moving into their new No-Kill Advocacy Center of Chicago, Famous Fido Rescue initiated Project GUARD, providing counseling and resources to avoid animals going into the shelter system. Pet Wellbeing is proud to support with a donation of senior health, joint, immune system, stress, and overall wellness support for their rescues!

In the late 1970’s, Gloria Lissner began to rescue dogs and cats as an alternative to the violence they would suffer at a high kill shelter. She formed Famous Fido as a grassroots effort to end kill shelters and to promote animal rescue and adoption.

Famous Fido works to rescue animals who aren’t considered “adoptable”, saving them from abuse and euthanasia and working to place these animals into safe, loving homes. Famous Fido also strives to educate the community about animal rescue and animal protection.
