We had the pleasure to donate to Soi Dog Foundation, a truly incredible organization saving street dogs (and cats!) in Phuket, Thailand. They have single handedly controlled the street animal population, rescued and rehabilitated countless cats and dogs, found homes through their adoption program or their own sanctuary, and advocated for animal rights across Asia.
Once we figured out how to get our products into Thailand, Pet Wellbeing was incredibly proud to support Soi Dog Foundation with a donation of teeth & gum, immune, and skin allergy support for their rescue pups!
“To improve the welfare of dogs and cats in Asia, resulting in better lives for both the animal and human communities, to create a society without homeless animals, and to ultimately end animal cruelty.” - Soi Dog Foundation mission
Soi Dog Foundation was established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, to help street dogs and cats with no-one else to care for them. Over 70,000 strays roamed the island, with the numbers growing alarmingly. With a humane and sustainable solution, Soi Dog managed to control the stray population and address their medical needs.
Soi Dog Foundation’s facilities include state-of-the-art dog and cat hospitals that see an average monthly intake of between 350 and 400 animals in need. Most will be returned, post-treatment, to the area they were picked up from. Though some will stay at the sanctuary if they cannot be safely returned to their area and most will then be included on the Soi Dog adoption program.
Soi Dog’s work also includes ending the dog meat trade in Asia. The foundation works tirelessly across the continent supporting activists working against these inhuman practices. They have successfully helped end the trade in Thailand and Taiwan, and work is under way in several other countries.
